I've been married to Debbie, the love of my life, since 1974. We met at Shorter College. I grew up in the town where I'm living again, after 35 years of roaming around the country. We've got 3 sons, 2 daughters-in-law, and one granddaughter. I'm definitely a Cosmic Possum from the North Georgia Mountains, with family roots going back over 200 years in North GA, NC, SC, and VA. My Mom's got 6 or 7 family lines in the DAR, but I've never managed to get around to joining the Sons of the American Revolution, but I will soon, now that I've discovered a direct Jones ancestor who fought in that war. Strangely, I didn't have any ancestors who fought in "the late unpleasantness" (1861-65)...just a great-great grandfather who was in the Georgia Militia (a distant relative says he was a captain, but I have no other evidence...I think she was reading the muster roll wrong.)
Debbie's breathing a sigh of relief after about two years--I finally got all the construction tools and materials cleaned off the carport. There's still one wagon load of stuff to take to the shop building, as soon as it quits raining.
